Swash That Buckle!

5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and we're back. After a long rest I'm back with my latest creation: a Pirate themed painting. This image was rendered using acrylic paint on canvas measuring 41 x 41 cm, which is big! Balancing the colour was really tricky but through the process I started to remember how to paint again. Previous renderings have mostly been in watercolour so acrylic was slightly trickier in that it is a less fluid medium. However the colour and finish are flat and bold, which is what I like. If you have ever wanted to learn how to paint follow this link: Bob Ross.

1 UP

Lucky Fisherman or Angler as we say in the UK. Whenever I see characters with big noses engaged in the mudane I think of: E.C.Segar & Joost Swarte. A nod to all the 8-bit gamers out there checkout this ace 8-bit comic strip Epic Saga.

The Postman's Dilemma

I think we can all relate to this, I used to be a Postman. Rain or shine these fearless individuals brave the elements to deliver our junk-mail, bills and pitiful bank statements. We know they love it though, why else would they wear shorts all-year-round?

Stupid Robots

Felt-tip and Photoshop comic-strip. Robots are a great vehicle for humour, Bender from Futurama being one of the best. Eventually when I have enough material I will publish a new comic book, my first in 4 years. Far from being an asset to the human race, I believe robots will be just as bumbling and falable as humans.

Squawk!

Parrots sitting in a tree, postcard/greetings card Illustration. Photoshop and Felt-tip pen. In my home-town there is a naturalised flock of wild Green Parakeets, these social-birds love to do nothing more than meet up and have a good old-fashion squawk! I think we can learn alot from the birds.

Overwhelmed by Choice

Felt-tip and Photoshop colour. Cover for a zine. These days it seems like we are overwhelmed by choice, be it 10 brands of instant coffee in a supermarket or the latest breakthrough musical artist/group, meh.

Draw!

DRAW! A while ago I created this animated GIF, I guess it is technically a Pixel Sprite. I thought I had lost it forever. This used to be on my webpage way back when, and it used to only work when the cursor hovered over the top. I guess the character looks a bit like Pob.

Football Fan

Felt tip and Photoshop illustration for a greetings card. I am terrible at football, where as my brother is not.

Online Portfolio

Hello! I have an online portfolio for all to see and critique over at Carbonmade. The best way to celebrate that kind of news is by drawing a frog because it makes me very hoppy, so get ribbett and check it out.

Lighthouse

A dramatic Illustration of a Lighthouse rendered in felt tip and Photoshop. Lighthouses are interesting buildings. Living no-where near the sea the two I remember the most are from the children's programs: Round the Twist and The Odyssey. Sadly most Lighthouses are now automated rendering the role of Lighthouse Keeper redundant.

A Passing of Time

Proposed cover for an as yet unpublished book.

The Flying Pink Elephant Explains All

Everyone has heard of Flying Pigs but no-one has heard of the lesser spotted Flying Pink Elephant. This is a spot image for a proposed magazine column whereby a Flying Pink Elephant dispenses sage-like wisdom, insight and wit, because remember after all an Elephant never forgets.

Dress To Impress At The Small Press Fest

Dress To Impress At The Small Press Fest by kelleeee
Marker pen and photoshop and just for fun. Small-press-fests or "cons" are interesting places to observe social interaction. Incidentally I'm for them not against. In my humble opinion Thought Bubble is probably the best, an honourable mention to the long running and under appreciated Caption. Apologies to any I have failed to mention.

Way Too Much Coffee Man!

Way Too Much Coffee Man!
Long over due comic strip. Crayola Scribbler pens & Photoshop. I really like the dirty marks on the paper so much so that I left them in. Did any one else read Too Much Coffee Man in the 90's? I think my brother gave me a few issues I really enjoyed them and it really made me want to draw.
